Sixth Form Induction

Go one step further with our Sixth Form Induction
Covid-Protected,

It’s been really useful exploring different parts of time management and revision and the activities helped me engage with what was being said. I now realise what my strengths are and how I might go about using them to help me through the next 2 years.”  Year 12 Student, Sacred Heart Catholic High School

Many students don’t fully understand the difference between GCSEs and A-levels. This often means that the transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form is tougher than students expect.

The subject material is significantly more challenging, the workload is greater and there is more pressure than ever to succeed in the final exams. How do you prepare your students for the change?

Applying to UCAS

A one-day preparatory workshop for Year 12 students

Our workshop will provide a step by step approach to the whole UCAS process and ensure your sixth-formers have the best possible chance of obtaining a place on the right course at the right university. From deadlines to finances, we cover everything and you can be absolutely sure that you have made the right choice for your students.

Let us field the questions, concerns and uncertainties and relieve some of the pressure placed on your Head of Sixth Form at this time of year. Our partner schools now see our UCAS workshops as an integral part of the Year 12 curriculum because they make such a difference.

Our workshop covers the whole application process:

  1. selecting the right course
  2. comparing institutions
  3. completing the application form
  4. writing an effective personal statement
  5. guidance about what to look out for on open days
  6. looking ahead: finance and budgeting

During the day students will produce a detailed plan for their personal statement, draft out key paragraphs, practise their interview techniques and write an action plan for the weeks and months ahead. This stimulating programme will give your students more confidence as they embark on their UCAS journey and will prepare them in tangible ways to present themselves effectively and understand what they can be doing now to increase their chances of success.
